I lost over 150 lbs. the last two years and now am at my acceptable weight range. I love sweets and have followed a strict maintenance plan to keep my weight in check: I diet during the week (turkey sandwich, Healthy Choice/Lean Cuisine dinner, fruit, water) and then on each Saturday only I eat what I want: sweets, maybe pizza or a hamburger, or perhaps a restaurant meal. But I always eat my sweets for that one day. I have maintained my weight, even when eating until stuffed on that one day, for over two months. Is this acceptable? Do others do the same thing? Thanks

I don't think you should go to extremes on that one day. I understand your wanting that one day for things you do not otherwise eat at all, but keep the quantity down nonetheless. If you really can limit it to once a week, you should be OK. Impressive show of self-control, really.

And congrats on losing that much weight. It is possible this one-day-a-week concept has really helped you, but it would not work for a compulsive eater: it would lead to excuses and excesses.

First, congratulations on your weight loss. I'm not a nutritionist but from what you say, it looks as if you are balancing your diet just fine. You allow yourself to indulge one day and the rest of the time it's healthy food. I think if you keep it to one day a week you'll be just fine.

Also, my brother went on some type of body builders diet where they had one day a week to eat whatever they wanted. So, Yes others do that as well.

Great job on the weight loss, I guess the one day a week is ok just be careful that it does not slip back to the everyday, something that helps me I carry a before pict, and look at it when im thinking of being really bad that usually curbs the wanting to pig out.

My individual yearning is extra with ice cream than desserts, so I've been shopping frozen yogurt. It does the trick. As lengthy as you're carrying on with to devour your end result and vegetables, indulge your self.... Good Luck

I do it too, but I make sure I don't over do it. You can have anything you want, just not how much you want. Good Job on the weight loss, congrats.
