Cookies are small, guest can try one and go on to another dessert without feeling to guilty. Brownies are a bit heavier and though people often indulge during the holidays they will usually avoid the heavier desserts unless of coarse its the only option.. I was at a Christmas party last night, I made chocolate truffles, the host kept them for herself, but I did notice the strawberry shortcake was not cut, the most people had a cookie in there hand , and there was a rice pudding that everyone tried. I guess with the pudding you can scoop a little and not over do it.

You didn't say how old your daughter is, but I'm assuming that she's a young girl. I like the idea of cupcakes for kids' parties because they're already in individual servings sized for children, and what kid doesn't like cake! They're also lots of fun to decorate, and you can have your daughter (and your other children, if you have any) help you with that part. Be creative with sprinkles, nuts, chocolate chips, shredded coconut and icing colors (a large batch of basic vanilla icing divided into several bowls, and a few different colors of food dye will do the trick nicely) and it'll be fun and delicious.

Apple and Sultana Twirls Ingredients I roll of vegan puff pastry apple sauce sultanas Lay the pastry out flat and spread with a thin layer of apple sauce. Sprinkle a layer of sultanas on top. Roll the pastry up and place on a tray and put in the fridge for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and grease an ovenproof baking tray. Take the pastry from the fridge and slice it into 1cm thick pieces. Lie these down on the baking tray and cook for about 15 minutes - until golden brown.

An eggnog custard pie with a graham cracker crust. There are non-alcholic flavorings that would be good substitutes for liquor. Also, you might put in little pieces of candied fruits, making it a tutti-frutti eggnog pie. Put on a whipped cream topping and sprinkle on some nutmeg.

Merry Christmas!

Cupcakes are somewhat easy to do and you can decorate them for every occasion. If you don't have a cupcake or muffin pan then you can buy the cupcake wrappers that have the foil that goes around them when you bake them and it holds them in place.
