I am a Hindu and i have read the Koran (the impure version, translated in English), the Bible and the Zend Avesta. I haven't gone to hell.
All Religions never stop a believer or unbeliever to see the truths (or lies) shown by other religions, so go ahead and read. If you ask the local church, they will advise you the same. So go ahead, and read away, it will only add to to your education on other religions. Americans definitely need to know how the rest of the rest of the world prays to their different Gods.

I'm not a Christian (or a Muslim for that matter), but I do know the Bible encourages reading and "testing" other religions, which would include astrology, by the way.
I would be skeptical of any teachings that say " this is the ONLY real way to see, feel, and think". Too much like brainwashing, don't you think?

Of course its okay to read the Koran and NO of course you wont go to hell. Actually I think maybe if more people acquainted themselves with its doctrine they would see there is nothing to fear. It doesnt mean you have to agree with it but if there was less fear and ignorance this world would be a far nicer place to be.

You can't go to hell for just reading it. If you believe the parts of it and do them that are the opposite of what the Bible says then you might be in trouble. There is nothing wrong with trying to understand it but just know the Bible is the absolute truth.

Even if reading the Koran (however you spell it) were a sin (which it is not), Christians are forgiven their sins.

Its okay if you want to read it to understand it better. Its a good thing to seek ut knowledge.
However if you beleive the crap people say like "You will go to hell if you read that book" then you are just as dumb an ignorant as they are.

The Lord doesn't care what other religious interpretations you read. The main thing is to accept him into your heart as your saviour to assure eternal life with him.
