Some people say it doesn't matter which shampoo you use, just the conditioner.. but I do disagree.
On the top end price range - Redken or Silkner.
An Aussie model changed haircolour five times in one week from brown to blonde and used redken hair repair treatment packs and her hair survived!
On the supermarket end price range - SUNSILK.
Sunsilk is hair's supermarket friend that works wonders at a low cost esp. the oil treatments.
Then there are the less well known brands, organic etc, see your local haircare supply store. (Supply stores stock a wide range of products whereas your hairdresser stocks her own favorite or sponsor).
As a rule Redken has far less harsh chemicals than some brands. And sunsilk is great too, recomended in finishing and model schools. (But not publically admitted).
Stay away from Pantene as it wraps a type of coating around the hair making it impossible to penetrate, colour, nourish etc. Used it once and my stylist almost threw me out of the salon on my next visit after. PSP has too much drying alchohol.. I could go on, but stick with the above and you won't go wrong.

I buy any shampoo that does not test on animals so I think those brands are the best. It will say on the back of the bottle if it has not been tested on animals, I don't want any animal to suffer just so I can wash my hair. So I stay away from the Pantene,Dove etc.

I have normal to dry hair, so the best for me was Avon's all in one shampoo and conditioner. However, my daughter tends to have oily have so the Matrix salon formula works best for her and it really isnt that expensive when you consider how small of an amount does the job. Good Luck

there is not any such "best shampoo". but instead you have to find a shampoo that suites you. but never get misleaded by tv commercials
