I hope not. Illegal immigrants need to ALL be deported and then they can apply to come back through the legal procedures. Why should anyone get to jump ahead of the line of other immigrants who are going to the trouble of doing it the right way? I am sorry for you because you are suffering the consequences of your parents' poor judgment of bringing you into the country illegally as a child, but you should be upset with them and no one else. They should do the right thing by you now and take you back to your country to immigrate legally.

The law isn't unfair or racist. Assuming every single Hispanic person you saw was an illegal immigrant would be unfair and prejudiced. But , particularly if you live in a border town or a place where many illegal immigrants from Mexico come to live, realizing that many of the Hispanic people you see probably are illegal immigrants, is not racist, it is common sense. SOmeone should do a scientific experiment. Go to one of the Arizona border towns. Gather together, at random, 500 Hispanic people, and 500 white people, and 500 blacks, 500 Asians, etc. Determine within each group which are and which are not legal US citizens or persons from other countries with appropriate green cards. Publish the statistics about what you find. Would people fear the truth of such statistics?

So you have been here illegally for 12 years and you never found the time to try to apply for legality? How typical.
As one of the posters said above don't hold your breath till anything is done about it.Amnesty is not an option with the majority of legal Americans.I feel that the borders must be secured,a moratorium on legal immigration for at least 10 years and then the systematic deportation of all illegal aliens. The estimate for the cost of deportation has been set at $ 230 billion ,but that money would be made back with in 5 years by the savings to the state and federal government not having to pay the cost of the illegal aliens so called"cheap labor".

With the Democrats in power and Bush as president, all the illegal aliens will get amnesty. I would rather Congress not pass a immigration bill if it is going to haveamnesty in it.

It should be when an illegal is arrested, even for a misdemeanor, should be deported. I also believe that they can only recieve urgent emergency care, such as child birth. And that leads to my opinion that the children of illegal aliens shouldn't be granted automatic citizenship.

The Department of Homeland Security is uncheckable. Only the President or the Secretary of State can override immigration policy.

Your best option is to leave voluntarily, go to your own country and then apply. You will probably get a visa in the next four or five years that way. If you wait, then hopefully congress will pass a law to throw out all illegal aliens and bar them from being re-admitted. Leave now and reapply, or risk being banned for life.

If you came here illegally than you need to pay the price sorry. There are laws in this country and they need to be obeyed and respected, and those people who can not respect the laws of this country and come here illegally need to go back and come back through proper channels. Congress should not make exceptions since exceptions are not made for people from other countries.

we may end up giving amnesty. the Mexican prez ask bush to give amnesty to the illegals already here. and he would help close the borders then, bush said no. after seeing a few Mexican men living on the street in the small town i live in I'm beginning to think maybe amnesty would be OK. i do know we need to seal are borders because of the tarriest coming in. we have to worry about the sleeper's we have here now.

Congress is great at creating more problems in the name of trying to fix current ones. I wouldn't hold my breath.

That is a laugh. Congress doesn't have the ability to pass any bills that mean anything to the PEOPLE. I don't think that giving themselves a pay raise counts.
