It depends, they can be the same age and have an even strength. If they are played with alot they will get strong. EXAMPLE: You train with your German Sheppard everyday, but you train your pitbul ot whatever dog 3 times a week, it appears that your german sheppard is stronger. This is only a example doesn't mean you should not train your other dogs less than your favorite.

No, Pit Bulls are typically stronger but both breeds are strong if in good condition. But the Pit Bull has the tendency to be more tenacious. They are totally different breeds of dogs. Shepards make good guard dogs but Pit Bulls do not as they are a people loving breed and should NEVER be taught to be people aggressive.
I am wondering why you are asking that question because wanting a certain breed of dog just for the sake of strength is so immature.

It depends on the size of each dog, and how much strength exercise each dog gets as well. My female shepherd who is only 9 mths old is stronger than my friends male pitbull that is almost a year and a half. However, I train my dog in many areas and strength is one of them.

Well pitbulls are the only dog that can pull up to three times its weight. So id say the pitbull, even though german shepherds do come close.

It depends if your measuring physical or mental strength. My black lab was able to outsmart my friends pit bulls everytime. His Pit was always unable to catch him. He would not run he would just make the Pit bull fall or run into things trying to catch him. If the pit bull would have caught him he might have been in trouble. From what I have seen, I think the Pit Bull breed is as a stupid as the gangsters that own them. They need a tough stupid dog, to compensate for their own insecurities. The day I need a dog to make me appear tough (shoot me)

I agree with jeep mama. If you're asking this question, chances are there are piles of festering dog poop on all the sidewalks within 2 miles of your home.
