There are several listed for sale now on Guns America. If you'd buy one you would have to have it shipped to local gun dealer, shop, or person that holds a FFL. Most places charge $20 and up to take delivery of a gun for you and handle the paperwork.
The link below is to a page on gunsamerica.com with Police Postive models for sale.

Thomas S, look for .38 S&W ammo. .38 Smith & Wesson, .38 Super Police, and .38 Colt New Police are the same caliber. My Dad has an old S&W revolver chambered for .38 S&W and sometimes it is a pain to find at the chain stores.

Elmo, try Fountain Firearms SH-6 & Bissonnet in Houston, TX. They should have a web-site (which I don't have).

I think I saw Colt police positive there a couple of months ago. I don't remember the caliber but it could have been a .32-20.

Good luck!

I saw one yesterday at the gun shop on Rt. 441/S.R. 70 in Okeechobee, Florida. Dealer wanted way too much. $675!!!
Condition about 75%. Guess he doesn't really want to sell.

I don't have the Colt, but I do have the 4th model Smith in .32-20, nickle with 5 inch barrel. This caliber is very sweet to shoot. Very mild recoil. HOWEVER, ear protection is a must!!! I shot a few factory Jacketed Soft Points in mine. I had my plugs and protectors in/on. The shooters standing around nearby shreiked in pain! It is very loud!

My best advice is if you don't want to try on line is to hit all the gun shows in your area until you find paydirt. They are out there.

Look at all the gun auction sites, pawn shops, used dealers, etc. Half the fun of collecting old guns is the finding them. 32-20 was quite a popular caliber in the early 20th century.

The Father of the Mississippi Blues, Robert Johnson, wrote a song called "32-20 Blues" about the pistol that you should hear. He's the one that is supposed to have sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his musical talents down at the "Crossroads".

I thought that only came in the .38 like Barney used to carry. I have a .38 but I can't find ammo for it, I have even been to Cabellas. It does not matter really, it is just a historical piece anyway.
