Is final cut pro avaliable for windows?

The best? That would probably be stuff you haven't heard of and can't afford. I'll assume you're looking at consumer grade stuff and are trying to make a choice.

I happen to prefer Final Cut Pro and the Final Cut Studio is really quite powerful. Adobe Premier is also very good and a fine choice. They have improved it significantly. I used Premier briefly for a while but found Final Cut more intutitve and easier to use. Both, however, have big learning curves.

Final Cut is not available for Windows and likely never will.

There are several other NLE applications that are also good but often with less buzz. They can be solid choices but know that you may have less choice when it come to things like books, support groups, tutorials and classes, plug-ins, etc.

If you are serious about effects then you should look into other options there: After Effects, Combustion, Shake and so on. Those are serious applications to master....it depends on what you are really trying to accomplish.

I like Nero the best, but other very good programs include ones from ULead and Roxio - they all cost about $100 and each has pros and cons - you can also download trials of most to see which works best for you. Good luck!
