Television signals used use to alalog signals wich is a wave form of a single howerer now they also use digital signal of ones and zeros the advanatage is a analog wave will lose quality every time it is boosted or enhanced in strength were a Digital single can be boosted over and over with out any loss so techoncaly better.

a bad alalog signal get snow on the TV asnd a bad Digital signal get blocking now.

one note you can get blocking on a analog transmission also and this is due to the signal being transmited in digital at one point but converted to analog along the last step
