Consult an allergy specialist. Its actually possible to desensitize the body to allergens. Pregnancy may not be the best time to do it.

Generally speaking, pregnant women should stay away from most fish, especially seafood, because of high mercury levels.(if she really craves fish, try some freshwater salmon, tuna or lake trout...but only once a week) If she's allergic to shellfish, she should stay away from it altogether, pregnant or not.

I have an allergy to shellfish, and have gone into anaphylaxic shock. If your daughter is allergic, she should see her doctor about getting an epinepherine shot to carry with her, and a medic alert bracelet. (It's rare, but some people who are allergic to shellfish are also allergic to iodine...so keep that in mind when she's in labor, 'cause they'll want to swab it on her...tell them to use hepiclense instead).

Even though she likes shellfish, it's for the benefit of her health, and her child to stay away from it. We all have to go without stuff we like, but she shouldn't risk her life just to taste lobster.

There is no cure for allergies or nothing she can take to help her so she can eat seafood. When you are allergic to something anytime you expose yourself to the allergy you run the risk of going into anaphalatic shock or even death.
It is best to avoid such foods if she is allergic to them

I highly recommend that your daughter avoid all food allergens that she is aware of. If she's pregnant she really shouldn't take anything unless her doctor tells her it is safe. Food allergies can be fatal so avoid all seafood that can cause her to have allergic reactions.

She's probably just craving the taste of seafood... why not take her to a shushi restaurant and she can try vegetarian sushi. That will probably stop the craving.

try a fish chowder or corn chowder. I dont think there is anything to stop an allergy like that, although I guess you could ask a doctor, consult a baby doctor too for the baby's health.

Nothing. The only way to treat a food allergy is to AVOID it.

I am also allergic to them. There is no way she can take them if she wants to live. She can however take seafish.
