Limewire is the best by far... Just make sure you get the pro version. The only one problem i've found is sometimes there are songs listed that have no bitrate, those are the ones you don't want to download. :)

What is LimeWire?
The Fastest File Sharing Program on the Planet
LimeWire is a file sharing program running on the Gnutella Network. It is open standard software running on an open protocol, free for the public to use. LimeWire allows you to share any file such as .mp3s, .avis, .jpgs, .tiffs, etc. Limewire is written in Java, and will run on Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Sun, and other computing platforms. Publish your original content to the world without setting up a website!

Why Should I Use LimeWire?
At LimeWire, we are working on developing the future of open peer networks and the digital commons. Our goal is to build users a tool that allows them to easily publish content to the world. LimeWire's elegant user interface is like no other Gnutella application available. LimeWire is capable of multiple searches, available in several different languages, and is most famous for its ease-of-use and cross platform compatibility. LimeWire offers two versions of the software: LimeWire Basic which is free of charge; the other is LimeWire PRO which costs a small fee, features faster download speeds and better search results, including up to 6 months of free updates and customer support via email. Neither version contains ads.

What's New at LimeWire?
The LimeWire Development Team is at the forefront of Gnutella Development and is working with other Gnutella Developers to enhance the power and use of the network. Several developments are being finalized, such as the ability for companies to offload bandwidth costs by serving files on LimeWire, as well as allowing personal users to send very large-sized files over email. Serving and distributing original content has never been as easy and cost-effective for individuals and businesses.

a million) it really isn't any longer legal to truly have copyrighted application that you probably did not pay for - it doesn't matter if it really is German ort Martian. you're violating *US* copyright regulation. 2) The RIAA sues in spite of who owns the copyright. (and they particularly a lot continually get a astounding judgment.) 3) because that any web site that had copyrighted song available for receive may be sued particularly a lot as we talk, the in common words way you're going to get "free" song is with a peer-to-peer software meaning a) a receive and b) you may get an epidemic, no longer song.

Actually, it is not so much about the software.

It is more about the peer that you are downloading from. If the peer is infected by virus and you are downloading from them, you must have an anti-virus to keep it out.
