Bounces. Stand on a 3-4 inch piece of wood with the top of your foot (where the stirrup should be), leg straight, and go up and down by just using your lower leg. This also helps stretch out your tendon, and will keep your heels down. Doing this on a stair would produce the same thing. BTW, I live in 110-120 degree weather, with 90% humidity.. I feel your pain =( I just turn my horse out 4 days a week, and ride him the other 3 early in the morning so it's cooler (talking about 4:30 am lol) =( Hope this helps!

I used to walk about 5 miles a week and swim often but am so unfit now that a free sessesion of hatha yoga had me completely knackered. So I'm now going for short walks before a meal and extending them gradually. And dancing (in private, more like waving arms about in wierd ways) to my most upbeat cd's. I do this in the evening just before I go to bed as I have trouble sleeping and the exercise helps me sleep better.
I plan to renew my sports leisure membership to use the pool again as soon as I can.

I play basketball & netball...
I play basketball four times a week for an hour, netball twice a week, one 2 hour session, and then a 1 hour session.
I also try to get the gym every second day (or more). I don't try to tire myself out, so I try to avoid training when I'm feeling fatigued.

I practise two martial arts, I find it more interesting than conventional exercises, fun and you learn self-defence.
You also get a sense of achievement when you progress through the different 'grades/belts'.

Run on treadmill at the gym for one hour, followed by 15 min's sauna and 15 min's steam room, followed by cold shower or cold plunge.
Minimum twice per week. Maximum six times per week, depending on time available. I am retired.
