The past is just that--in the past. There's nothing that you can do to change it, so why not learn from it and go on from there?
The first thing to do is to decide what it is that you want out of life. I'm not talking about what other people think you should be doing--what is it that YOU want? Then figure out how you can make that dream happen. It may be by working a regular job and taking courses at night toward your goal, or it may be by simply getting to know people who have the lifestyle which you're considering. Take it slowly and test the waters with your toe before diving in, so that when you finally set your course you'll be certain that that's what you want to do.
Once you've done that, set yourself short term as well as long term goals. That way you'll see your progress and won't get discouraged.
Always remember that success is simply being happy not necessarily being rich. Peace of mind comes from being content with who you truly are and knowing that your life's path is right for you.

Whether you graduate or not doesn't discount the infomation you learned while you studied part the class. Life is not meant to be solved in one step. It is a journey and different jobs and experiences contribute to the total you. Now, you have experience and knowledge that you did not have before. At 60, I am college senior, and member of the honor society, totally opposite of the person I was in my youth.
A degree does not guarantee knowledge. Learning is what keeps the brain young. No matter what your income, don't stop learning or Alzeheimers is waiting outside the door.

Get involved with the world more then. If you don't know what you want to do, volunteer and help others in all kinds of ways for a time. That's one suggestion.
My own answer to this as I had some of your feelings (that you disclose), was giving up my patchy IT career and instead I took a voluntary apprenticeship in a garage. I have my freedom as I can leave when I like, and I find I do 14 hrs a day or more and happy to. I know little about it and learning constantly and it's satisfying.
You won't know what you will want to do without trying stuff. Took me 5 years to even begin to realise the truth of this. A kind of fear, apprehension etc held me back. Also the feeling that I should be "something" or doing "something important" was another barrier, as I could never find this "important" life goal. Now I just drop all that nonsense and see where my new choices take me. It's a gamble, I may hate in in a few months time and have to move on.
We are sometimes conditioned by the media to believe in "big dreams" and feel we must aim at such big dreams. The reality is messier and more wondering around than that for most of us. The great thing would be to feel comfortable with this and learn to enjoy any particular labour and get satisfaction out of it-as long as it's something we've chosen to do for a time.
As I said though, find as many possible choices as you can that allow you to be involved with people, helping people perhaps and find things that perhaps you would never have considered. My work is voluntary-I found a business I cared about and decided to see if I can help it. Long term it could be profitable to me as well, you don't have to become totally altruistic. Having your own motives is normal as long as you give 100% to whatever you are doing. Volunteering in other words doesn't *have* to be charity or similar, it could be working for businesses and helping out in all kinds of ways. Think of it like this, it's free networking. People get to know you, trust you, perhaps new friends you get to meet. Oppurtunities may grow from doing all this. You never know do you? :-). Create fertile ground for new oppurtunities to spring from by just getting very involved with as much as you can manage. See what happens. I repeat myself as my thoughts developed as I typed, so apologies :-).
