I'm 25 years old, 5'7" and 330 pounds. I do notice when i have to bend over for an extended period of time that I get a little light headed when i come back up. I am quite flexible though due to flexibilty exercise as a teen. I wrestled in school as a heavyweight. My body has gotten so used to being fat that when i go to the gym, it fells like i'm just going crazy. being fat hasn't slowed me down much at all. Call it denial, or call it what you will. My nickname is TANK. I'm a machine in all aspects, just bigger than most. we'll see in a few years if the fat catches up with me. Shoes have always been a part of my life just as fat has also been. I can imagine if you haven't been fat, it could be quite demandeing to put a pair of shoes on. but don't complain about it. you did it to yourself FATTY. (LOL)

I am overweight, but more to the point I had serious abdominal surgery recently. Tight bending over just isn't an option for me right now. I have two solutions.
First, my dress shoes (I wear a suit to work) are very nice loafers. When new, I use an 18" shoe horn to help slip them on. When broken in, I can usually get them on without the shoe horn.
Similarly, my other pair of shoes are velcro-strap tennis shoes. Before surgery, I didn't have to bend over long to push a couple of straps down. I usually stood by our open-sided stairs and raised one foot onto the third step, which put it within easy reach with minimal brief bending. After the surgery, I sit in the recliner and rock back a bit. I then can cross one leg over the other knee, tug on the pants leg if needed to bring the foot closer, and finally reach the straps to push them down onto the velcro. I imagine this would be much harder if the shoes had laces to tie, since I would have to reach with both hands.

I noticed that when putting on my shoes as I started to gain weight - sometimes it actually hurt. So I decided to do something about it, and losing weight really made a difference to everything in my life, including putting my shoes on.

Sit down or lie down on the bed. That way, you won't fall over.

strange question, I'm not extremely overweight, but for me, no, it isn't hard at all, but I can imagine for like huge people, I dont know, if they can even reach their feet, so I really don't know.
