Well if you wanna be ready for the next generation of this planet..you'd better start learning chinese vocabulary/grammar/characters now...It takes a long time, trust me.

If you meant Chinese language---what exactly are you referring to? There is Mandarin, there is Fookien or Hokkien, and there is Cantonese, and Shanghainese. In Thailand, the Chinese there speak a different kind of Chinese. Hen Hao, Hsieh hsieh nin!

I don't know. I'm interested in learning it because I thought learning Japanese was so fun - once I got the hang of it, it was like "wow, I can read this!" So Chinese holds that appeal, suppose.
