and the stylist. The owner's mom had shown me around the upstairs of the salon where they were selling jewelry, etc. Should I have tipped the mom too? I felt rude not doing so. But then I wasn't sure, since she was the mom not an employee...Plus, I ended up buying some jewelry.

=I think you did the right thing cause some do not even tip the shampoo girl so it becomes up to the stylist to share her tip or not. Think of the mom like the hostess who seats you at a restaurant...would you tip them? Of course not, generally speaking. Happy Holidays

No you didn't have to tip mom too, She really didn't provide a service. Besides you bought some jewelery too. Usually you tip the ones who have worked on you. Stylist, shampoo girl, colorist, ect. Alot of times the stylist don't share their tips. I've worked in a salon for 15 years and very seldom do stylist share their tips. So tip individually.

If she reported she wasn't an worker, i would not sense too undesirable approximately it. i comprehend that is incredibly awkward attempting to confirm who to tip and how plenty. yet because of the fact which you probably did purchase some jewlery, i think of you probably did the suitable component via not tipping. My thinking at the back of that's the mum did not incredibly furnish a "provider" like the stylist, and so on. did, she grow to be in simple terms sorta...."there."

no no dont stress! You really only have to tip one person, or leave a tip at the reception when you are walking out and let them fight over it!. I always tip my stylist and my colourist. They do the hard work! Then again, Ireland doesn't have a huge tipping culture.
