I am muslim. My question was posed to the people on yahoo who say Muslims are terrorist, bombers and killers. I was asking if this where true the muslims that you KNOW would be these things too, if this was what Islam was about.
I know its not, i know its a religion of peace.
My point was the muslims you know who are peaceful are the real muslims.
Not the media hyped, stereotype you constanly hear about on TV
I'm sorry so many people misunderstood the context of my question. I was never accusing muslims of being killers. WHY would I, I AM ONE.....

Eye love........thank you for your reply. I too take people at face value and treat people as i would want to be treated. I have many friends, collegues and family members who are hindus, siekhs, catholics, prodestants, christians you name it and i know them. I never think of us as being seperate only have different views i was always raised to believe we are equal and to be tolerant of peoples differences. It so nice to see people like you and Pangel living in that truth also. Peace and blessings to you both. Thank you...

I can appreciate and respect that. Most of what we do know about Islam is as a result of the despicable Jihad infecting the world today.
Perhaps if we spent less time stereotyping Muslims we would hear more from the Muslim community denouncing these terrorists acts.

I do not agree with the 'stereotyping' of Muslims (and many others too) that seems to be common these days in the USA.
It seems many people (at least here in the USA), that the way to make self 'look good' is to run others down. I am sure, there are peace loving Muslims too. Unfortunately, here in the USA presently, the violent Muslims get most of the press apparently.
In Muslim countries presently, I am sure 'Christians' are portrayed in a negative light too.

Have you ever thought that maybe Muslims are just scapegoats for our own problems? If it weren't for the 9/11 or London bombings would you think differently of them? Serious question, because I saw a video that suggested that it was all government doing and they framed young Muslim men. I am a Christian and I hate the way our country is devaluing us, but just rise above it, yeah?

Most of the people I know are peaceful. Some of them are Muslims, others are Christians, most are atheists.
The majority of people are nice and peacefull. What they believe or dont believe in does not make a big difference.

I have come to believe the same. However, I also know that radical Muslims believe other Muslims aren't "true" Muslims. It stands to reason that BOTH cannot be correct.
God tells us in Hebrew Scripture that "radical" Islam will end soon. Read Ezekiel 38 and 39: Russia will lead an invasion of Israel, closely joined by Iran and other Middle Eastern nations known for practicing "radical" Islam. The armies will be completely destroyed by God.
So every time Pres. Amadinejad does or says something that nearly makes blood shoot out of my eyes with anger, I think of these prophesies, and smile quietly to myself .......
Peace.

Again, it is hard to make that point with this going on:

I could go on, and on. It is NOT A SMALL PART, and as you can see these are not small groups. It is easy to claim the peaceful part is the "real" Islam. But just protesting that we see something different is not going to solve your problem as long as stuff like what I posted is going on. If it were small, I wouldn't blame everyone.
I am not the one who says it is Islam, they do. I just don't see any reason to doubt them. I do not see it as a small fringe group either.
You are talking to the wrong group. If you don't like what people are doing in your name, you really ought to be on them.

hahaha well I have a 2 part answer to your question...the first is in human nature people are good and bad no matter what religion you are part of. There are Christian Murderers and Islamic Murderers. Just because you are part of a religion doesn't mean you exempt from becoming one of those.
Secondly Islam is NOT a religion of Peace.
Ex. The Believers who stay at home-apart from those that suffer from a grave impediment- ARE NOT EQUAL of thoes who fight for the cause of God with their goods and their persons. God has given those that fight with their goods and their persons a higher rank than those who stay at home. God has promised all a good reward, but far richer is the recompense of those who fight for him...He that leaves his Dwelling to fight for God and his apostle and is then overtaken by death, shall be rewarded by God...The unbelievers are your inveterate enemies(Koran 4:95-101) This is why people fly planes into buildings....Try telling me its a religion of peace and I laugh in your face!

I suspected you were asking in a sarcastic way - and I was right.
As I answered before in your other question:
I have had several muslim families as neighbours. Most of them are young families with children - either staying permanently or temporarily studying then go back to their home country. They are hard working, loving families and always helpful as good neighbours can be. And no - they didn't kill anyone or bombed any place.
And NO! They are NOT from the middle-east. Not all muslims are from the middle-east, unlike the ignorants would have us believe. There are even regions in China and Russia where there are lots of muslims.

I've met many Muslims, but no terrorists.
I've met many Kurds, but no terrorists (PKK)
I've met many Irish people, but no terrorists (IRA)
I've met many Sri Lankans, but no terrorists (Tamil Tigers)
Every group of people and every religion and nationality contain both good and bad people. Terrorism exists but it isn't waged by the majority of any group. Anyone who thinks it is, is biased and prejudiced.

The real thing that some people don't want to understand Islam and don't deserve to know the truth so let them eat and sleep like animals and don't care about what they say
