A milk allergy is a common cause of eczema according to my doctor. He suggested that I try eliminating it from my son's diet for a month to see if there was improvement. Then try reintroducing it to see if it worsened. Unfortunately for us that didn't solve the problem and we still have no idea what causes it.

Milk allergy can cause allergy. Does it have others symptoms? (diarrhoea, vomiting, refluxes, stay of growth..common symptoms of milk allergy) The eczema can occur also without milk allergy and then the diet did not resolve the symptom.
Your pediatrician can visit your son...
If it is an allergy, a diet without cow milk protein is the better (with soy milk for example, and addiction of calcium and D vitamin in the diet).
