the insurance co. should have given u a temp ins. card. if they didn't then u may not be covered if u have an accident. If u are on the road with the card, by law u must have proof of insurance (in most states where ins is required).

If you have paid your motoring insurance, your insurers should send you a Certificate of Motoring Insurance. This is the document you may need to produce if asked to do so by the Police. It confirms that your vehicle is insured.

The reason why you may not have received the above document is due to the heavy rush of Christmas post which usually causes a white-out at RM. (Snowed under is the expression they use).

I repeat - so long as you have paid the insurance, you are covered from the time and date etc. No worries.

Keep a note of your motoring insurance policy number and the insurers telephone number. If in the unlikely event you are stopped, the police will then be able to confirm with them via telephone that you are covered.

If youbought an insurance policy, yes you can. If you get pulled over and are ticketed for not having insurance, then by the time your court date rolls around, you will have gotten your cards, just show them to the judge and the ticket will be dropped.

i paid my insurance by direct debit a couple of weeks ago i asked on the phone if i was covered straight away and i was. you are best off just ringing them up and double checking first though. i am assuming you have just passed your test so well done, i passed a couple of weeks ago and as soon as i knew i was insured i went out in my car but forgot to turn my head lights on so everyone was pipping me and waving to me, i thought i was sooo popular, lol. remember your lights, you should recieve your certificatre the day after you paiod anyway, good luck and drive safely!!

Ring them up and query it and ask how long will it be for your certificate to arrive and ask whether you can drive.
