I don't want nothing fancy just want to record the kids. I like my camcorder now just want something smaller. I have been looking and I think I want a mindv recorder but was just wondering if it transfers to a vhs like my old one. I just hook it to the vcr with an adapter and I record it to a vhs right. Not into editing and all that just want it to record and that it is something smaller than I have now. Thank you very much for any info you can give me.

Yup, same thing... nowadays they're darn tiny, and produce amazing pictures.
There's an even simpler solution, cameras that records to mini-DVD discs. You just pop it in your DVD player, and viola!

The mini dv tapes are smaller, making the camcorder smaller. Also, it's digital, so it's suited to be transferred to a computer or a DVD recorder for digital editing or to be burned on DVDs

It's just the same, the only difference is the medium that is recorded on - mini dvds instead of tape. You can get camcorders now, btw, that record on to an internal hard drive.
