the conservative people are say that children need a mother and a father. But what about all theose kids who's father left their mother or their mother left their father; or what if their mother or father died wouldn't it be the same thing? what about children who's parents abuse them or don't give them the love or attention that they need? Is'nt true that all children need is love? Dose anybody feel this way?

I am a conservative Republican. I couldn't care less that his daughter is having a child. I never understood people who didn't believe that homosexuals should not be able to raise children.

What I think is really messed up is that here in Florida, they let homosexual couples be foster parents, but yet, they are not allowed to adopt. So pretty much they are saying that these couples are good enough to raise all these children....but only until someone 'more suitable' is available. What a load of crock.

A child does not need a mother and a father. They do need male and female role models but that is what aunts and uncles and teachers are for.

If there is a couple who is loving and wants to have a child and can give that child what he or she needs (love, understanding), then go for it, no matter your religion, sexual orientation, political views, race, gender, age, etc.

This world is not perfect and for the conservatives to damn others is completely wrong on their part. I think it's great Dick's daughter is having a baby. People can not help who they fall in love with...it's just who they are. As long as the parents do their best to raise their children, teach them right from wrong, give them all the love they deserve...the children will turn out just fine.

I'm conservative. And I don't care. She made the baby, she'll hatch it. I don't approve of that type of lifestyle, but I'm sure she doesn't care either way. I don't care about other's views on my marriage. Its her kid and her choice of partner. As long as the kid is raised in a loving environment, then I'll have a good life. Just because I disagree with homosexuality doesn't mean I plan to go to rallies or bash people. Its their choices and their life.

I am with you. The conservatives are embarassed because they keep ranting about gay and lesbian people as if they were from Mars. In fact, they are just human beings. And they make great parents. All the baby needs is love.

Becasue people are hung up on judgemental self-righteousness. Their argument can't hold up, it's beyond ridiculous and makes no sense.

Families come in all shapes and sizes. saying you don't "approve" smacks of judgemental moral elitism.

Better to have two adoring moms than one mom and a deadbeat dad.

Not everyone cares - I for instance do not.

Until now I wasn't even aware that he had a daughter - thank you for one extra item of trivia which I have now absorbed.

Not really. See, two bulldykes cannot have a baby. When they get some ugly guy to jack, and they put it in one of them, that kind of goes against conservative values.
