I assume to want to email something to someone, you don't want to email your scanner! Your scanner interface will more than likely give you an option on what you want to use the scan for, including web/email (Epson does). This ensures that the scan is done at a suitable size for that purpose. You do the scan, then save it somewhere where you can find again, and attach it to the email you wish to send.
