Hi!!
If its cold enough to freeze water solid, then your dogs probably shouldn't be outside. In extremely cold weather, it is advisable to move the dog house into the garage or other building.
Until I know a method for keeping water thawed out in the dog yard.
My friend Brian have a hot water line in he I/O kennel that he run a long hose off of to get warm water out to the outside dogs. He top off the 2 gallon buckets 2-3 times a day and bait with gravy, canned food or cheese powder, and if it's below zero he thaw the ice, dump it and refill with hot water.

We just use buckets and change them 5 times daily. They will freeze and there is not really anything you can do about it. The heated bowls don't work that well, especially for more than one dog.

Why is your dog's water bowl freezing? Don't you have heat in your house?

If you're keeping your dog outside in such weather, your best bet is to take the dog to a rescue organization and let someone else take care of him/her.

A little salt. Not to much it will dehydrate your dog. Vodka will work also.
