If the kitten doesn't move away from the hoover, then its not scared. As long as you don't physically hurt the kitten with the hoover you're not doing anything wrong.
Its good for pet animals to have no fear of us and what we do. I prefer to see animals that are used to the activity and noise of a normal home. Life is less stressful and more comfortable for them.

Well my kitty must be unique! She loves following me around when I vacuum. When cleaning the stairs, she will sit on the step above the area I'm vacuuming, when I lift the brush to the same level she will wait till the last second before jumping up to the next step! She chases the cord when I depress the rewind, then sits by the cleaner, waiting to see if I've finished.
My husband sits her on his lap, covering her eyes and ears (just as a safeguard), then I gently (lowest suction power) vacuum her neck and back. She absolutely loves it and purrs away lying very still, almost sending her off to sleep!
It might be because she was brought up from the day she was born with the cleaner being used in the room her mother had the litter, that she shows no fear.

Yes, as others said, just so long as it doesn't end up hoovered up...
My current cat moves away when it gets too close for comfort; my late cat used to enjoy being groomed with it -just as well, given the amount of hairs he shed!

no i used to have a cat. Never hoover next to it or it will go nuts, or it will destroy the hoover. so don't do it for your safety and your cats.

I'm sure it's okay to vacuum near your kitten. He or she will move out of the way if he doesn't like it.
Just don't put the hoover on your kitten!

If it is timid i would suggest not as it will get scared
perhaps try hoovering with it sat on your couch first?
If it looks scared, cowers etc, prob not a good idea
if it looks perplexed.interested, you could prob even clean it with the hoover

The earlier you kitten becomes used to the routine of the house the better. It is better for the kitten to know its place now than you trying to adapt to the kittens needs, getting fed up with it and then throwing it out to fend for itself

The number of domestic questions that revolve around a pet's likes and dislikes, in this forum, amaze me.
Vac where you need to vac, when you fel you want to vac.
Make your bed - ditto.
Whatever - ditto.
Run your life, and fit your pet's life into it.
If the two don't fit you should a) not have a pet or b) get rid of the one you have.
DO NOT BE CRUEL - IF YOU MADE A MISTAKE IN HAVING THE ANIMAL, IT IS NOT THE ANIMAL'S FAULT.
