i am 15 and have shot for many years with both an air rifle and shotgun. If u can get a headshot gud 4 u. but wen ur leanin out of a land rover door in the rain at 4 in the mornin its a little harder lol! aim for the lung area if u are not garenteed a head shot, they will go down slower but they will go down, think about how far u cud run with a pellet lodged in your chest! If the rabbit is sat still on a warm sunlit day and you are in range with a perfect shot then go for it!

Although possible in the best conditions you could take a rabbit down with an air rifle. I'd suggest not just because it is not reliable enough. I would suggest using a .22 or if you want the smaller calibre go with that new .177 hornet. I've seen some videos hunting prairie dogs with it and it does the job very well.

Just use something bigger and more reliable

As for where to aim I'd always say the head as you can't eat the head but that is a harder shot. If you can just aim right behid the shoulder and and in aroudn the rib cage. because there isnt much meat there.

Hope that helps

Use BB better penetration. Head shot.(They don`t run.) Body shot you will never collect your prize unless you get a perfect heart shot. But that is hard considering there heart is only about the size of a dime.
I suggest you at least use a .22 because a air rifle dosn`t have enough power to properly do the job every time. I would only use a air rifle if I was hungry and that is all I had.

You need to shoot it in the head, and you will need something better than one of those air rifles you can get at Wal Mart for around 20 bucks. A Sheridan, or Beeman, should do the trick, but those are usually quite a bit more than 20 bucks.

go for the head, but make sure you are down wind when you do it, and use a scoped air-rifle. If you aim for the head, it will go down quicker, as has been proven time and time again when hunting. And depending on the size, wight and sex ofthe animal, you can get £250-£1000 for it.

Ask REAL air gun hunters these questions.

And yes, head shots are better and more humane,
providing that you have enough power at the range
you're shooting at.

I have always hit them in the head. I use a .177 Shadow 1000 by Camo 1000fps.

Whichever you choose will have to be an excellent killing shot. Even the most powerful air rifle will generally produce very inhumane kills. You will wound more than you kill.
