I've been using Firefox for a few days and am very impressed. I particularly like the built in spell checker and customisable search bar. The downloadable add-ons are cool too.

Does Opera offer these facilities? Is it better than Firefox?

Are there any other browsers for Mac that are better

Firefox and Opera are both good, and they are both free.

Firefox is also open source, so if you care about such things, you might want to pick firefox for the principal.

Nowadays, there seems to be very little difference between the features offered by both Firefox and Opera, and generally, any lacking feature can be added with plugins.

Both browsers have tabs, searching from the toolbar, mouse gestures (via a plugin on Firefox) etc.

Opera was the first (and I believe only) browser to pass the ACID2 test for CSS compliance.

I believe that there are more plugins available for Firefox.

I think you'll have to download both, and decide which you prefer. I personally prefer Firefox, as I prefer the user interface. However, I also use Opera as I do web development and want to test pages in multiple browsers.

Both are good browsers, although Opera is a bit more secure. On the other hand, Firefox is a bit faster. I would say try them both and see which one you like best. Opera has numerous skins you can download to change the look of it, where as Firefox does not. If your going to try Opera though, try Opera 8. Opera 9 has alot of bugs in it and is not as stable. Personally, I keep both of them on my computer. I use Firefox most of the time, but occasionally, I'll use Opera. I'm not a big fan of Internet Explorer, although the new version does look nice.

You can download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox from here http://bitly.com/1p6ktlB

Mozilla Firefox is one of the world's most popular web browsers and, to me, it's the best.

Try both and see which is best for you.

Everyone has different needs so see which browser suits you best. Which are you most comfortable with? What functions can you not live with?

I fall into the Firefox camp, having used from the day it became publicly available. I am not going to say its the best browser, but it's the best browser for ME. I like it so much I take it to work on a USB thumb drive.

If its free, try it out and see which you like. If its not free then, see if there is a trial.

No Mozilla Firefox is the best you can get! Firefox has emerged as the first browser in years to seriously challenge Internet Explorer - with good reason. Firefox has superior security and anti-spyware features, it works on Windows, Linux, MacOS X and other operating systems.

firefox is to browsers what google is to search engines. straight foward and simple. opera is a bit too bells and whistles for me its only a browser after all. as for internet explorer i use that most but its security is questionable.
