2. You have your own voice at par the choice of the constitution.
3. Merit: You can rise to an extent permitted in the constitution
4. De - merit: You will have to forget honesty and your life.
5. General elections are conducted periodically as framed in the constitution but by elections are conducted when the seat goes vacant because of some unpleasant situation created by God, self or law.

Q1. A constitution typically specifies the organization, basic operations, rules, rights and roles of the government and governed.
Q2. In an democratic country, elections are open to all voters and are designed to be accurate, fair and unbiased.
Q3. Merits of political competition include having a wide range of choices and political leanings of the compeditors. The majority should rule. Demerits include the possiblity of cheating, limited choices, unfair outcome to minorities, etc.
Q4. Electoral competition is when local groups of voters elect representatives who go on to larger groups of representatives and vote in the interests the people they represent. It is possible for a candidate to win an electoral majority, and win, even though the popular vote (everyone's votes) would have caused him/her to lose.

since the power of governance is in the hands of the reps of the people the constituion provides the rules of governance otherwise everyone would be fighting amongst themselves for applying the rules they believe in.

elections are the sole selection process on which appointment of new gov depends, in non-demo countries there are powers which can overpower the results of elections.
