Itching and eventual scratching can be due to various reasons:
Dry skin.Apply moisturizing lotion instead of scratching. The skin can tear and it can lead to infection.
Eczema. - it is a chronic dry skin condition and bacterial or fungus infection. But this is not what you are talking about.
Around genetalia, if you need to scratch it is normal. Just scratch -scratch delight. It happens to every human being. It is a complicated place and the bacteriae love to have a party there. (listen.... shhhh..........quiet........can you hear their dance music and loud partying down there........?)

The real answer may astound you. Yes, there are many reasons we have to itch, usually from rashes, wounds, scabs and as been mentioned, dry skin. But what is it about those area that cause us to need to scratch it? . Have you heard the expression "don't let the bed bugs bite"? This is true since there are millions of bed bugs where we sleep as well as those on us. Microscopic bugs. Every person contains these little microscopic bugs on them. When you have a scab or dry skin, these bugs are within that area picking away at the skin and eating it. The sensation of these bugs is what causes us to itch and why it goes away for most of us after we scratch it.

Sweat makes a hair lay down suddenly, it dries and "boing" it snaps up creating an itch, dry skin suddenly flakes or sloughs off creating an itch. Some people are more aware of these things the others.

Dry skin or some type of skin irritation. I would pay attention to what you might be wearing at the time or what you ate. I would schedule an appointment with the doctor to help resovle your problem. I'm a nurse. Good Luck.

i'm uncertain, yet we sue Frontline on our cat approximately each six months. She's allergic to fleas and gets those scabs on her back via her tail the place she will't sparkling herself. Frontline knocks the fleas out chilly and our cat would not have any themes like extra itching. perhaps yet another dose? Too undesirable the stuff is so high priced!
