Candy especially dark chocolate can be very good for you, in moderation of course.

There are many people who do not like sweet food and thus may "hate" candy. There is a sweetness receptor in the tongue on mammals called T1R2 which forms a G protein type receptor to transmit the sensation of sweetness, one of the five basic types of tastes. Some people may have ones of their genes (T1R3 specifically) altered slightly to interrupt or change one's perception of taste, most likely based on molecular actions that occur between the sweet substance and the signaling mechanism to the brain. You will definitely find people that do not like anything sweet, the same way some people may not like strongly bitter, or sour food.

What's in candy that we need "hate" so much? Even the word "hate" itself when you look at it looks hateful. LOL
Well maybe the sugar that will make people fat could be disliked.
