a .177, they're more powerful than a .22 and are used for hunting smaller game, like you asked in your previous question.

I'd go with the .177, but you don't elaborate on how you want to use it.
I like the .177 for its higher muzzle velocity and flatter trajectory at a given price-point of rifle. I'm used to shooting in areas that don't get much wind and have clear line of sight to target.
I'm just a plinker in the woods - like to hit targets accurately.

it is a toss up depending on what you will use it for
the 177 is faster, the 22 hits harder
i own a 20 cal (5mm) which is the best of both worlds but i have to special order pellets as no stores carry them.

Depends what you want it for. For target practise .177 if you want to hunt then .22

Buy a .22 and get those special hi- power pellets ( small pellets in a plastic casing. The casing falls away and the pellet zooms in faster). Don't kill poor animals though, go shoot a few hoodies!

I recommend that you buy neither. There is no possible reason for anyone to own one. The are dangerous & should only be sold to licensed people &, in my opinion, such people should be checked out by the police beforehand to make sure of their motives for buying one.
