Depends which type of guard you are, if you're static then it's easy money , like other answers have said you have to be good at entertaining yourself, I d/l games from the net for my phone and play them. retail security however can be a little scary if you spot some1 nicking or if youre in a high risk area and you have lots of kids hanging around , you need patience and a strong head to withstand the insults, im quite fat so thats an easy one for them , but i heard them all b4 and its not really personal theyre just trying to make a situation worse by making you lose your temper which i have once but i kept it together and dragged the ring leader into the back , pinned him then got the receptionist to call the old bill, i was shaking after it all calmed down.

I depends where you are located and what you are guarding. A security guard in Baghdad is certainly not bored or lonely but would certainly be scared!

Boring!!!! You can almost feel your self getting dumber by the minute. You got to be good at self-entertaining, if not the long hours will kill you. But with the boredom comes's the need to look for something to do, like look for trouble.

Quite boring i'd expect, unless you're in a team in a large shopping mall or similar.

all depends which type of guard you are!
I am in $ security and it is very hard and physically demanding work....... not to mention, money is the root of all evils!

you have to be good at self entertaining,can be very mind numbing,can be boring if you don't have a partner to talk to....good job if you are going to school-can study,do papers,etc
