I'm not a guy, so I can't give direct input.
However, I am of the mind that men are intimidated by intelligent women. Of course, they don't want some pampered doll, but if a female is overly intelligent or successful they feel threated by them. It's a quality of society; even to this day there are more housewives and businessmen then househusbands and businesswomen. It's a pride issue, I think.

All guys are different. I love an intelligent woman that can hold her end of a conversation. Successful women are also a turn on since they clearly have set goals and are working to achieve them and not looking for a guy to 'take care of' them.
I don't think women are intimidating at all, unless of course, she is an East German Olympic athlete with more facial hair than me! lol

Men are intimidated by women who clearly demonstrate that they can take care of themselves. That doesn't make them a turn-off, though. In fact, because of their naturally competitive nature, men will try harder to win these women over. If they succeed, it's a huge boost to the ego.
Also, men are intimidated by self-proclaimed ultra-feminists, such as I. But we like it that way.

I think some men are intimidated by intelligent successful women...others tall women...others women with children....everyone is different so it is difficult to generalize.....

The only thing that intimidates a man is himself. Some are easily intimidated and others just never are. I've never been intimidated by any woman and the smarter she is, the better I like it.
