It has nothing to do with age and everything to do with maturity.

There are usually legal implications to doing it before a specific age in most locations. Which age varies by location, but is usually held to be 18 or 21 in most locations, and 16 in many places in Europe.

Though these ages are arbitrarily set based on the social and moral standards in the area, this is one are where the one size fits all policy fails.

For those that say 'never before marriage', I respond that marriage was originally a construct to join two unrelated families for financial reasons. The standard of 'no sex before marriage' came later during Victorian times. Before that, it was common practice (and in some cases, even expected) that the husband would have a mistress off the side.

I think she needs to be at least 21. That ways when she got pregnant, she might be aware enough to take responsibility to the child. or she would be smart enough to have a rubber 1st time out. I think younger then that , just opens the door to a whole lot, for someone younger then that is prepared for, I have 4 children all planned.and I was a virgin till 18.my 1st being born at 21, and it still was hard to learn all the responsibilities of being a parent .so anything younger would not be right, but in everyday life I think they start out around 16 cause I sure hear a lot about that age pregnancy, So I guess her maturity leave would answer that ? if she has a brain okay if not no way cause both will suffer the rest of there life for 1 bad decision

Old enough to say "I do" the day before she loses her virginity that night.

BTW, this goes for guys, too. Virginity may seem like an old fashioned concept, but it's the ONLY one that will keep people from getting STD's and/or pregnant. It also keeps kids from having A LOT of heartaches.

Virginity until marriage.
