I am not a very Religious person, but I grew up Catholic and I now despise Catholicism. Can anyone tell me how many and what Religions are older and maybe more believable than Catholicism? Also, what "bibles" or testaments are the oldest?

As religion the Christian Church had been in existence about 300 years before the Roman Catholic Church. The so called Roman Catholic Church started when the Bishop of Rome became prominent in the Council of Laodicea and became the head of all the Christian Churches. The Protestant Church came into existence in the 16 century or almost 500 years ago.
But as concept, the worship of the true God started with Adam and Eve, of course. The Jewish religion started around 1500 BC.
as a nation, but it was practised first by Abraham around 2000 BC.
But according to the Chinese history, there was already a kingdom in China under the first Dynasty, the Xia Dynasty, in the year 2205 BC, or 200 years before Abraham, and that the ancient Chinese ancestors believed and worshipped , Shang Di, or the King of Heaven, the Creator of the universe as evident from their writings preserved on animal bones and turtle shells, known as the Oracle Bones or Jia Gu Wen.
But according to history, the believe and worship of the Creator God was forsaken by the time the second dynasty, the Shang Dynasty which started around the year 1700 BC.

As far as the oldest book is concern, the Babylonians, or Sumerians book containing the account of creation has been in existence before the birth of Abraham and it is called the Gilgamesh Epic, or the Enuma Elish. But the oldest preserved religious book is the Old Testament containing the 39 books from Genesis to Malachi. The first was written around 1450 BC, while the last one was written around 400 BC. The New Testament containing 27 books from Matthew to Revelation was written from 50 AD to 96 AD.

It is interesting to note that in Revelation 14 there is a description of a religious movement symbolized by 3 angels with three different messages. They are described as carrying the Everlasting Gospel (Good News). If you notice carefully you will find in that chapter that this movement is predicted to go to all the world to every kindred tongue and people, meaning to every nation, preaching the true and everlasting gospel, and preparing a group of people called the "saints" characterized as "keeping the commandments and having the faith fo Jesus."

Revelation 14:6,7, 12-16

6Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— 7 saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” .... 12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those[g] who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me,[h] “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’”
“Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them.”
Reaping the Earth’s Harvest

14 Then I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud sat One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. 15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him who sat on the cloud, “Thrust in Your sickle and reap, for the time has come for You[i] to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.” 16 So He who sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

Islam is only about 1400 years old. The age of islam is stated in their Calendar and it's called the 14XX Hijra.
The Oldest Religion in the world is Hinduism. There is no specific date as to when Hinduism was formed. It was considered by the Europeans to have been in existence from around 1500-3000 B.C., parallel to the beginning of the Egyptian and the Mesopotamian civilizations and that the Aryan invasion catalyzed this. This theory was pushed by Nazi Germany. However, many now think that there was no Aryan invasion theory, & therefore Hinduism has always been out of and part of ancient India .

How Old Is Christianity

Judaism is one of the oldest religions out there, as far as books go, the Torah is very very old and is in fact still almost as accurate as it was thousands of years ago. The Discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls has proven the maticulous recording of the torah and bible, the only mistakes were numerical and letter changes in names. For a scroll that old up until now that is amazingly accurate. I think it was something like 8 errors and they were, like I said, spelling and numerical errors and the numerical was as in years between or the year of etc. Christianity is around 2000 years old. As far as religions go, Judaism is one of the only religions as old as it is where the creation of civilizations was not due to a conflict between gods etcetera. I hope this has helped a little, feel free to message me and aske more.

I think all of you are Wrong. someone made it clear, that the religion of Christ has always existed.
with Adam and EVE, and Seth and enos and the Noah, there were patrarchs that prophecied of jesus, Hence the pre deluvian religion of the prophecy of Christ. the coming of Christ. Abel was the first martyr because of a conspiracy and covenant between satan and Cain. but most people don't know Abel was the first prophet. ! but the priesthood and religion was the holy order of the Son of God, changed only to the melchezidek priesthood because this man was a very HOLY KING. and they wanted to stop using the name of the Lord in Vain. Abraham Got it from the Lord Noah or Shem. possibly directly from Jesus. but Jesus has always been the God of Israel and the Lord of the covenant, because He is the sacrificial Lamb of the Hebrew People and Israel and Judah, never the less the false priestcrafts and the enemies of God have always found ways to usurp the religion and corrupt it with the doctrines of Satan. and that's the confusion. satan imitate the church, the church follows satan, the people fall into apostasy and whats leftover is the mythologies and the half truths preserved by history. So, its all about following Jesus, no matter what language, what religion what sources. its that the historians and archeologist don't teach jesus when they find Him, they only teach the evil sorceress that ruled over the Aztecs and became cannibalistic head hunters.
one has to read the book of Mormon to know this. and one has to read the pearl of great price to understand that Adam and both taught the gospel of Jesus Christ, together. some people were converted at the preaching Seth and Enos, but no one converted at the preaching of Noah, because the remaining people loved satan MORE
