The former.

I think "Coool" is confused... atheism isn't a faith, it's the absence of one.

Wow there are just so many way that you have phrased that same question which basically asks "Is the Christian Faith built on a bad foundation?"

The answer is neither. It is built on the best foundation. Jesus Christ - Isaiah 9:6

It is not flawed (unless you count the fact that it relies on people who are not perfect and who sometimes have their own agendas)

Not inconsistant (again people are and have been) God is not.

as with any system of faith, there exists the purely logicistical standpoint of their doctrine, and then the real-life translation of how and in what circumstances it should be used. Christianity belives in God and righteousness, that is good, and they even have an upstanding, holy poster-child-prophet, and that's good, but the flaw, if you want to call it that, is the practical applications of its dogma. I can't really think of any such instances, but that's where you come in:)

I think Christianity's foundational truths have been long since buried under religious bigotry and dogma.
