There are health problems associated with everything we eat that's not organic, like processed foods.

Diet sodas, over a period of time, will give your brain the same effects as if it were on formaldehyde (preservative for corpses)

Literally, you'll get a brainfreeze. (Where it locks up altogether)

The most common sweetner in diet soda is still Aspartame (Nutrasweet). This is nasty stuff. It is amazing it made it through the FDA process. Aspartame is associated with reduced seizure thresholds (making it easier to have a seizure), headaches, migraines, dizziness, memory loss, tremors -- and these are just some of the neurological effects. Something like 90-odd side effects have been documented, across a range of physiological systems.

One thing I can speak of from personal experience is the artificial sweetener Aspertame found in diet sodas. I drank diet soda daily for years and was waking up many mornings with headaches. When I went to the doctor about it her first question to me was do I drink diet soda. I got off of it and a day later the headaches were gone.
