what is the theme of the wedding? (if any) the song doesnt have to have words...check out "Sleepwalk" by Santo and Johnny...its from the 50s...so its definatly not new.its beautiful and timeless. "till ther was you" by the beatles. "La Vie En Rose" by Edith Piaf..beautiful lyrics...its in french, so romantic. "i wasnt prepared" by eisley..its new...but it doesnt have the same feel as other new songs."georgia on my mind" by ray charles. really it all depends on the music you like. just look though you favorite albums. if there is a song you love, even if its not REALLY LOVEY DOVEY...and its slow and you can dance to it, making it your song for your first dance will make it even more special.
im having a hard time finding a song for my wedding too. its a gothic wedding and i dont want our first dance to be something ...well...normal. but its so hard to find a gothic style song you can slow dance to. good luck

My wedding song was "I Cross My Heart" by George Straight. It was perfect and to this day will get me all choked up.
Here is the words...
Our love is unconditional
We knew it from the start
I see it in your eyes
You can feel it from my heart
From here on after
Lets stay the way we are right now
And share all the love and laughter
That a life time will allow
I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world you'll never find
A love as true as mine
You will always be the miracle
That makes my life complete
And as long as there's a breath in me
I'll make yours just as sweet
As we look into the future
It's as far as we can see
So lets make each tomorrow
Be the best that it can be
I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I've got to give
To make all your dreams come true
In all the world you'll never find
A love as true as mine
And if along the way we find a day
It starts to storm
You've got the promise of my love
To keep you warm
In all the world
You'll never find
A love as true as mine
A love as true as mine

White Lion - 'Til Death Do Us Part from "Mane Attraction"
Beautiful wedding song, but under used because they never released it as a single. And if he's 8 years older, he might actually get excited about a White Lion song.

I like "She's my everything" by Brad Paisley, but you could try weddingchannel.com, they have a great list of songs for every part of a wedding from ceremony to cake cutting. Etta James "At last" is, of course, a classic

We're using "Something" by the Beatles. It's an older song, but a classic one.
