How can you help to create a poverty-free world?

I founded Unknown Bank, to help poor people of G8. I accept money from anywhere. The purpose is this money never to be used again.

Does anyone really believe good old muhammad? or good old sport bono? wow, brainwashing does work!!

Yes, brainwashing really does work. But I don't think the famous version of this question was written by someone who intends to keep all the money for himself. Such a maneuver would be quite noticeable to anyone who examined the books, and those books would have to be open to auditors, no matter what country it is in. There's not a single government in this world that would resist having laws making it necessary for banks to be audited on a regular basis. Banks are, after all, where the money is. What government would agree to let them alone?

No, the big humanitarians really are humanitarian, on the whole. That they are sometimes motivated as much by tax breaks or press agents is not the point: that money does do some good.

But that does not end poverty. It's not a bucket to fill, where "a drop in the bucket" would make my point. Bill Gates and other well-known philanthropists give large enough amounts that they could fill a bucket. This is much more about attitude than money.

Another person with the exact same situation as myself would call themselves poor. But living in America, our worst (OK, most nearly worst) is much like some other country's middle class. Nearly everyone in America has a roof over their heads at night, even if it is a wretched homeless shelter or a flea-bag hotel. The few truly homeless are mostly there because they have not connected with those who could help them for whatever reason. Food, clothing and shelter are all available for free to any American who simply shows up at the right place and time. And there are outreach programs to go find those who don't know how to find the place or know the time.

But the bottom rung will always feel like poverty, no matter how comfortable it is compared to our average condition today. Lords and ladies of the medieval period did not have it as good as a welfare-recipient in America and other developed countries today.

I think they are honest people. I don't know how the One.org uses their money though. We do need ways to get people working though. Or ways to get them treatment if they are ill.
I don't see how the refugee camps work though. They sit there doing nothing (not by choice, I know- not blaming them) until MAYBE the local war will end and they can go home. Whenever I hear about that, I'm reminded of the American old west and their fortified towns. If they could stay put long enough to harvest a crop, they wouldn't be hungry.

I can and I already doing it every day in the past 31 years and I have no problem doing it. 32 years ago I came to America and I had 42 dollars in my pocket. I never forget where I came from. Now I have every things that I never dream about. I believe in the power of giving,sharing and educating.People in U.S. never experience Poverty so quite a lot of people can not relate to Poverty. So I educate people every day as well as giving and sharing. Believe me I will do it until the minute I die.

Well, I think Muhammad Yunus is on some serioius dope. Go ahead and help people by lending them money but, your utopian world isnt going exist (except when you mix prescription drugs with alcohol and a touch of crack cocaine). Personally, helping people isnt a bad thing, but just give them the money, not lend them the money. Plus, Poverty-free World? Man, Muhammad is as delusional as the one that came before him.

We can strive for an ideal world, but to create it... its just not happening.
People have been for centuries placed in categories. In america where capitalism is pronounced without fear, people can rise and fall. In India, you can only fall. In india, you can make person less in debt but never out of debt. We are slaves to money.

A poverty-free world is a sure dream, never to be relised. People have different attitudes to work and therefore productivity will always differ person to person. Poverty will be defined differently at different times and space. One dollar a day, three dollars a day etc etc

A world where every individual has the opportunity to work and be rewarded according to his efforts and productivity, is for me a more sensible objective. Its OK for the few lazy and persimistics to drop dead.

The poor will always be with us. I understand the ones that are sick and handicapped are being helped. Who are the poor that need our help Are they not receiving help from all the world organizations and churches. And what about all the humanitarians that are constantly giving to the poor.
