I recently had a bunionectomy. I had my stitches taken out and all seemed fine.. but.
I forgot to change the bandage! This morning I looked at my foot for the first time in a while and honestly, the part where the incision was made.. it looked like a brain.
It was waterlogged.
Luckily it is still numb so I cannot feel anything! but when I went to my doctor today he had a term for what the cut was going through..
I know it started with an 'M'.
Any information on what this could be?
PS: I will be sure to change the bandaid everyday ;[

thanks in advance!

FORGETTING TO CHANGE A BANDAGE IN 1 DAY OR BANDAID WOULDN'T HURT OR WORSEN YOUR WOUND. IT SOUNDED LIKE THE WOUND IS STILL FRESH AND COULD CAUSE INFECTION IF NOT CLEANED AND CHANGED EVERYDAY. MAKE SURE TO WASH HANDS BEFORE & AFTER ANY APPLICATION. THERE ARE SOME OTC STERILIZER OR ANTIBIOTIC YOU CAN PURCHASE. ABOUT THE "M" WORD...THAT IS VERY HARD TO GUESS...AND WHEN IT COMES TO CRITICAL MED. QUESTIONM ALWAYS REFER TO YOUR DOCTOR. OR YOU CAN CHECK WEBMD.COM.

If the incision is closed and healing, you need to use an antibiotic ointment (skinny layer) as quickly as an afternoon to maintain it from turning out to be overly dry. I doubt she needs peroxide in any respect. basically determine it does not get contaminated - it needs air, yet you could cover it with a bite of sterile gauze and tape in undemanding terms the perimeters if this is nonetheless uncooked finding in any respect. as quickly because it scabs over or seems completely sealed, you could practice scar gel like Mederma (there are keep manufacturers too that are low-fee and are same) - that's stunning stuff! it is going to help the scar grow to be much less noticable and it heals dermis very straight away. My daughter had her appendix bumped off final three hundred and sixty 5 days at age 11 via the optimal medical professional on the city and we under no circumstances have been informed to do something with the incision - different than watch for an infection. She wore gauze over it for some days, then gave it air, then we used Merderma (which he additionally counseled) for six weeks daily. nutrition E may well be nice too if the floor is dry precise now, yet after that, swap to mederma and in case you think something isn't precise - get her precise to the medical professional asap. superb needs!

Is it the Doctor's term was..."MAMA MIA!"...then the next sentence was.."that's disgusting!".
