Hey everyone. I am getting married on June 2, 2007, and I need some advice on flowers. I would like to know what is in season, and I want the bouquets to stand out, but I don't want to use just plain white. So, if you have any adivice, or a good wedding flower website, I will glady take it! Thanks so much!

I also wanted to add that we are going with the color "blue velvet" for our colors! Sorry about that!! :) If you need the color for guidance.... go to this website.....

I found this useful seasonal flower guide at http://www.elegala.com/flowers-season.html
It's not just a list of flowers - it actually shows pictures of each type (which helps for those of us who don't know what each type of flora looks like!). This will help you get an idea of what types of blooms will work with your color scheme and budget.

Take a look at this website: http://www.tigerlilyweddings.com/june.ivnu
It lists a lot of the flowers that are in season during June...this website: http://www.tigerlilyweddings.com/yearround.ivnu has a listing of flowers that are available year-round.
Calla Lillies are very classy and simple. You don't need a lot of them to make a bold statement with your bouquets...have your bridesmaids carry only 3 or 4 in a bold color that will stand out against the dresses; like a mango/orange.
For your bouquet, you can mix in some roses or hydrangeas to make a really dramatic combo. You should also add some accent flowers, like the hydrangeas, to the centerpieces.

Orchids are the flowers of classyness and elegance... The dress is WOW!!! beautiful colors,,,,, to put emphasis on the bouquet... have some colors that are not striking but that would make ot stand out alive in your hand... orchids come in white, purple (more plum like) and pink (dark)... so........... these colors (upon your preferance) will do the job... arrange them in a bouquet at their length and add big green leaves..... it will look very special and customised for you!!!
Congradulations!!!!!

it might be nice to do a mix of colors in the bouquet. since its so hard to find a dark blue flower..a mix of light blues, purples and white that are in the same tone would look lovely against the solid color gowns! try hydrangea, iris and orchids. you might also want to look into having flowers dyed. try asking a local florist for advice too.

I think it would be pretty to have bright colored flowers. I love summer weddings that have bright blues, purples, reds and oranges. The are beautiful. I got married last summer and we had fire and ice roses and pink roses. It was great! Good luck with the planning! BTW, check out www.theknot.com if you haven't already. they have great ideas and you can ask other people for advice on their message board.
