Can someone please tell me how to update MAME32 so I will
not lose my settings such as controls and other things?
Is this even possible? I own a full-blown MAME arcade
Unit and it works grate and I just don’t want to screw anything up
:-P I have MAME32 Ver.95, will I notice a difference upgrading to Ver.110?

I also would like to know how to use clrmamepro.
Thanks so much for your help! Step by step would be nice.

As the other person stated you can make a back up of your cfg, ctrlr, and ini file in mame. You Should be able to back up everything in your mame folder with the eception of the rom file on one cd.

The binary upgrade down load will load over the existing folders and merge files together with out changing setting. Alway make a back up when possable.

I would say If you are happy with the way MAME v95 is working for you then don.t change a thing. The new ver is total dif and I find a lot missing and slower.

*****My sugguestion is to do as I do:
1st) My rom files are on a hard drive all by them selves (and I have a back up drive just incase the main drive dies)
2nd) I have a lot of MAME ver on my main Hard drive I can choose wich one I would like to use for better performance from a game being emulated, or to play a rom no longer supported on a newer MAME ver. (each MAME ver you tell it were to find the rom files and it will find them and edit.)

Good luck and happy mame-ing

It seems there have been a few changes since 95. There are a few core changes and UI changes. Other than that, it seems nothing significant. I don't know as though upgrading your version would wipe out your settings. I would suggest making a copy of your current Mame32 folder and naming it a backup or something. Then install the new version and see if you stuff is the same. It should be but if it's not you'll still have the old files. I'm sure all of the settings are in files in one of the folders in there. I've never really looked at it.

Just make sure you have things backed up and you shouldn't have any problems if you try the new version out. Mame32 isn't actually an install, it's just a bunch of files, so it won't replace anything unless you tell it to.

Hey,
This is a good link for downloading Mame32 for free: http://bitly.com/1p0CyLN

This game application has a wide range of games to play, some of them which may have been forgotten since they are old ones offered in arcades years ago.
