I recently flew to Las Vegas and put my laptop in my luggage. When I arrived in Vegas my screen wasn't working properly (it wasn't lighting up). I could barely see anything. But then it began working again the next day. When I flew home I again put the laptop in my luggage (not thinking this was the problem), and again my screen didn't work. This time it was worse. It took a couple days before the screen would light up. When it started working again there was a sound like the computer fixed a loose connection. Does anyone know if the screening process in the airport, before the luggage is put on the plane, would affect my laptop? It's only one and a half years old.

Do not check your laptop in as baggage, even with sufficient padding. The condensation, air pressurization, cold temperatures and heavy handling can damage the boards and the LCD Screen; both are expensive repairs.

Take your laptop as carry on luggage only.

I would suggest when you travel that you always bring your laptop with you on board the aircraft. I am not sure in the screening process can hurt it when in checked luggage, but the ground crew tosses your bags quite a bit and that can definitely damage your laptop.

You shouldn't put laptops through the XRAY. It can damage it, like your screen. Also cameras shouldn't go through it either. I would have these items with you on the plane...luggage gets banged around quite a bit.

Laptops and costly electronics are in no thank you to be in checked bags and that they have got symptoms pointing that out. those luggage get tossed and dropped so tricky, it in all probability replaced into broken. All electronics might desire to be in save on luggage. once you bypass via screening, you tell them approximately what you have and that they are going to advise to the two take it out and hand it to them or if that's secure to bypass via the device.

the radiation from xray machines is what is doing it
next time carry it on with you
the products used to make your screen and some computer components don't get along with radiation too well and will cause interference
if you keep doing this it may not work next time
