Did you know in Japanese, a rooster goes Kokeko-ko~~?
I once saw a show in Japan where they were comparing sounds animals make in other countries and they were hilarious. Here are some in Japanese...
Cow......mow~~~
Pig.........bu-bu-bu-bu
monkey....ki-ki-ki-ki-ki (like key)
cat............nya-nya-nya
dog...........wan-wan (like one)
What are some you know of other languages?

Swedish:
Cow: muuuu
Pig: nöff nöff
Cat: mjau (but if you want to persuade an uncooperative Swedish cat to come to you for a nice cuddle, say "kiss kiss"! - Not that it helps much, but then again, what helps with a cat that has made up its mind? "Kiss kiss" is nevertheless the proper and polite expression to use.)
Dog (average size): vov vov
Dog (small): bjäbb bjäbb
Horse: gnägg gnägg
Duck: Kvack kvack
Frog: Koack koack
Sheep: Bääää
Bear: Brum brum
Birds: Kvitt kvitt
Chicken and mice: Pip pip (pron. peep]
Rooster: Kuckelikuuuuuuu!

in italy roosters say "chicchiricchiiiii", cats miao (which is kinda similar to meow), dogs go bau bau, cows go mu mu (same sound of moo moo, just different spelling), pigs go oink oink, mice go squit squit, chickens say coccodè, sheeps say bee bee (the "ee" sound is similar to the EA sound in bear), horses say iiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiii (the iiiii is similar to the EE sound in deep)...hmmm I can't think of any other animal right now =)
