I wouldn't recommend it. Crisco will melt but eventually it hardens and when it does is not to appealing. To have a thin layer of grease on you tongue isn't a good thing. I might try some other kind of oil.

I would not - because Crisco at room temperature is a solid

No! Use mayo, even a little mustard, or a salad dressing you have in the fridge.

NOOOOO! Once the shortening cools, it will re-solidify and become just grease again.
