Sex for women is much different than sex for men. For a woman, sex is very personal, intimate and deep. Hence, women are less likely to jump into bed with any man off the street. Men don't view sex the same way. If you're looking to become involved in a sexual relationship, invest the time required and it will pay off.

Women may be hesitant because of social and cultural factors. Despite living in an "enlightened age" where sexual awareness and education are better, and women can take control of their own fertility, there are still social stereotypes remaining from days gone by.

The primary reason for hesitation would be related to the time investment and consequences of getting pregnant. For men - to be blunt - they only have to be there for the initial act, with a (generous?) time estimate of one night maybe. For women, the time required is nine months for the pregnancy, plus time to care for the offspring. If men were held to a 20 year time sink for one night of pleasure, they might be a little hesitant too.

It is highly likely that women do like sex as much as men. In this day and age, there is no reason for a woman not to be aware of how to regulate their own fertility, and be able to make the most of their desire for sex. The negative stereotypes will just have to be relegated to the past where they belong...

The answer is yes and they are hesitant because they do not want to be seen as sluts...they do this in many ways to improve their social standing with other women much in the same way they wear cosmetics to intimidate other women. You can also trace this back to biology: women want to mate with men with only the best genes for the healthiest babies and accepting any gene for them is counterintuitive/not at all logical.

Women often compete with people on social grounds (kinda like in the "Mean Girls" movie) and men on physical grounds (think "James Bond"), so since sex is more physical not social women often treat it less importantly in the public eye (to gain social power).

So they want it (sex), but, instead on admitting it, would rather use it to gain power and attention on a social scale, which could mean having a bunch of guys thinking they "almost have her" not quite having her and other girls looking at them in envy.

If it's a girl's first time, it is going to hurt.
Girl's are afraid of being labled sluts or easy.
Society teaches us to play hard to get.
There is the risk of pregnancy and STDs.
For women, sex is often more about emotions than physical need.

Girls do like sex as much as guys, but not as often. Yeah, bad wording but... A guy friend once told me, sex is like pizza. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. That's not the same thing with a girl. For a girl, if it is bad, it can be awful, and not just physically but emotionally.
With girl's, if it's bad, it's bad, but if it's good, it's great!

Hope that helps.

Girls think more of what it means. if its to prove they love a guy they will do it. but only because they are insecure on if them saying they love him isnt enough. Girls are hesitant because they dont want to have to give that up/ sex is a big subject to a girl. it isnt to a guy. we think its just for fun. a girl believe that if you have sex then it means you love them. thats how it should be. sex is a unity between two people and thats what girls believe. again guys want just to have fun. whoever made the song "girls just wanna have fun" seriously wasn't thinking lyke a girl.. anyways a girl is hesitant because even if they love you and believe these things about sex. they dont want you to think they are a slut OR they dont want you to leave them after it. so to them its a gamble.. to a guy.. its his pleasure.. in sex a guy does NOTHING in the birth cycle guys do NOTHING. its his mind playing tricks thats all
