Are you serious? Asking the worldwide idiots on the yahoo forum? Take her to your vet for a check-up and pre-natal care advice!!!

Some dogs are really quiet and won't show any signs of labor. My dog Trixie didn't even start breathing hard so you really just need to watched her. On the other hand some dogs make it obvious. Big dogs tend to cry more than small dogs. She will bleed somewhat but if it gets extremly heavy take her to a vet immedietly. Make sure to keep her hydrated and that she's in her nesting area.

She may try to kill her pups, so you really need to watch her behavior. Be warry during the birth of the pups. Some dogs get so protective that they won't even let there owners near the pups until they're older, so she may try to bite you if you get too close. It's nothing ersonal to you it's just her instincts.

Keep in mind you may have a runt or two, and sometimes tey don't make it so be prepared for that.

Just make sure to watch her behavior closely. I've had every senario above happen to me.

Um, have you talked to your vet? He should be on call for the next week or so incase your animal requires an emergency c-section (which may very well be the case as you suggest she's busting at the seems).

Her temperature will change and her breathing will become labored.

Talk to your vet. I hope your animal has been receiving the appropriate pre-natal care (including being fed puppy food, etc).

Set aside a large box with newspaper. When she's getting ready she'll go into the box (show her the box first, obviously) and start scratching and making "a nest". Even if she ignores the box, she'll start scratching continuously at something, even your carpet.

Then wait. It could be a while.

It will be nice to know what kind of dog you have, because some female dogs have behavioral changes. Some will hide their puppies or either kill them. Just be attentive.
