This is the first Christmas I won't be spending with her. But I have already given her personalized stuff (photo album, etc.). She likes the kitchen and gardening, but is getting to old to do them any more. And she's not very up to date with today technology (and too stuborn to learn).

Most older people just want to see their loved ones as they probably have all the material things they need and want. Does she have a VCR or DVD player? Considering this will be her first Christmas without you why not make her a video of you and your family, just have everyone say a few things to her, how much she's loved and will be missed and what has been going on with everyone, any kind of news at all. My sister that lives across the country did that for my Mom one year and I know from watching her watch it, it was the best gift she had gotten. And she plays it off and on all the time, so she always feels close to them.
If she doesn't have a VCR or DVD player a photo album with pics. of all your family from the past year and a nice letter telling her what's been happening in everyone's life since you seen her last.

It sounds like we have the same grandmother, lol. My grandmother really doesn't need nor wants anything for Christmas, but of course we don't pay any attention to her,we go ahead and still try to come up with something to give her for Christmas.I now just buy her either gift certificates for her drug store so that it can help her towards her medicines,or i place money at her fuel oil place for credit towards her bill. She seems to really appreciate this alot more than anything personal,or what knots etc..I hope this has helped you in some other ways to give towards your grandmother.Have a wonderful Holiday!

She does sound like a complicated guy or woman to purchase for! If there's a Harley Davidson keep (or place with their products) on your section pass see what they have that she might like or pass to a Christian bookshop and get her some non secular e book to study. If she reads the Bible she would be in a position to in all likelihood surely relish examining a Christian e book and he or she will take it together with her to Florida and study it on the sea coast.

a nice coffee mug with matching cake plate. At her age, she probably already has everything else. We practise giving cash on my side of the universe, cuz we know most stuff we buy as presents are usually recycled, packed and kept for next year, etc. Besides, if she herself (usually) doesn't know what she wants, how could anyone else?

I'd give her a day at a salon for hair, pedicure and manicure. No matter what a woman's age, she still enjoys being pampered.
