no pheonix tattoos are nice at least the ones i've seen and a lot of people get tattoos on their shoulder blades. Besides if you like it then **** what everyone else thinks. You'll have plenty of things that some people won't like but if you do then why does it matter. Also a Pheonix is a symbol of rebirth/ reincarnation... since it explodes into flames at it's life's end and is born again as a young pheonix. Remember X-men. Anyway this will probably explain it better than I

No, why would it be weird that a girl likes colorful birdies.
THe pheonix, is based on a myth based probably on a bird of paradise. They fly all over the world and die on this island in the middle east, by burning up. They are then reborn. I believe they live a thousand years. They are ironically most important in Chinese myth, and often pictured with a dragon. They are also found in Greek and Russian myths. The myth is not all the same, and I only gave you the western version.

No. Actually I think it would be hot. The pheonix is a very feminine symbol, with the idea of (re)birth and the like. It's also a symbol of strength and overcoming adversity. If I saw you with a pheonix tatoo, I would think, "wow, that chick is hot, and she's a strong person".

Go girl (I normally don;t say that, but it's a good idea).

I have seen the Phoenix on the shoulder of a woman I go to church with. Hers is just like you describe. I think it looks very good, feminine, and hot (no pun intended). The Phoenix is a bird that burned and rose again from it's ashes. It is great for a sign of some sort of rebirth or growth.

No, it will look hot. I know exactly what place you are talking about; it's a popular place for people getting henna done as well.

As for whether the design will be appropriate for a girl? Well, that depends on the design itself. You have to check with the tattoo parlors and see if they have feminine-looking phoenix designs. (with flourishes and such).

Symbolically, though, a phoenix is more fitting for a girl, I think. The phoenix symbolizes immortality and resurrection. Phoenixes are also closely linked with fire, a lot of phoenix tattooes also have flames circling the phoenix.

The legend of the pheonix, was one where the bird rose from the fire. It signifies rebirth / power/ resilience / valiance / resurrection and so many other things. I think a pheonix tattoo would be cool. Go ahead!!

i thought the pheonix bird was real. i know it is in alot of egyptian stuff. here is some definintion
Mythology. A bird in Egyptian mythology that lived in the desert for 500 years and then consumed itself by fire, later to rise renewed from its ashes.

or it could mean A person or thing of unsurpassed excellence or beauty; a paragon. paragon meaning A model of excellence or perfection of a kind.

personally i think it would be super cool if you got it on your back. i think it would look pretty awesome on a chick.

Phoenixes are mythological birds that burst into flame when they die, but are then reborn from the ashes. Phoenixes are a symbol of rebirth, I think.

Don't worry if it's not "feminine". I'm going to get a tattoo of a snake and a skull, for Christ's sake! Do what you want!

I think tattoos are very personal, and you should pick whatever you want and put it wherever you want. The Phoenix symbolizes immortality, resurrection, and life after death. It's a good thing.
