Christian Zionism, as a specifically theological belief, does not necessarily entail sympathy for the Jews as a nation or for Judaism as a religion. Since the biblical text is filled with references to Israel, it is common for Christian Zionists to emphasize the Jewish roots of Christianity, and even to promote Jewish practices and Hebrew terminology as part of their own practice; however, Christian Zionists commonly believe that to fulfill prophecy, a significant number of Jews will accept Jesus as their Messiah, and that in the last days, such Messianic Jews will practice a thoroughly Hebraic form of Christianity.
Many Christian Zionists believe that the people of Israel remain part of the chosen people of God, along with the ingrafted (based on Romans 11:17-24, Holy Bible) Gentile Christians. This has the added effect of turning Christian Zionists into supporters of Jewish Zionism.

The biblical evidence is more or less from the old testament but not all zionism is focused on the end times. The OT repeatedly spells out what the promised land is and how it belongs to the jewish people. If you were going by a millennialist thinking (rapture and all that) then there are certain prophecies that specifically happen in Israel such as the rebuilt temple but where the temple should be is the dome of the rock among other things that must change first. The Tribulation is supposed to be based on a seven year span of peace with israel rise of antichrist, etc.
Zionism mostly relies on belief in the rapture, tribulation, Singular Anti-christ, thousand year reign, and others

I don't think that all the christians are supporting isreal because they were the "good guys" (although they sure did piss God off a lot) in the bible. I think its because the palastinian group is coming in and trying to force israel out of the land they were settled in. The home team always looks like the good guys to outsiders. Besides, me being a christian, i believe that the isrealites disobeyed God a few too many times, and he did kind of threaten to make them a nation of suffering if they did that. So while I think that both groups should live together, I dont think that the jews have any biblical right to that land anymore.

Today's nation of Israel is an artificial construct of world government ... not the nation of the "chosen people" that many Christian Zionists mistakenly think it is.
Much of that movement is rooted in anti-Catholicism, where Israel is set up as an artificial Christian homeland, in opposition to the Vatican and the true church.
All this is likely to facilitate the eventual rise of the Beast and the False Prophet, who will almost certainly exploit it for their own ends.
In the end, only the church that Jesus personally founded enjoys the divine promise that "the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.".

It's completely based on the idea that the 12 tribes of Israel will return. Sorry, I don't know the verse.

The only applicable scripture from the New Testament I can think of is the one Jesus quoted when he was temped by the devil in the desert: "Thou shalt not put the Lord thy God to the test." Not a good one at all for them.
