The Hep B vaccine should provide life long protection. To make sure, your doctor can send you for a simple blood test to check your antibody levels and ensure you still have adequate protection against Hep B.

The Hep A shot is given as two shots, six months apart. It will give you protection against Hep A for about 5-7 years.

in case you've been vaccinated previous to receiving the vaccine very last 12 months (and it appears like at the same time as think about been, thinking you had some immunity to it already) then one booster shot is often sufficient. If it became your first vaccination, you need to have had it back at 3 months after the first, and then 6 months after the first. the in common words thanks to be one hundred% that you've immunity is to have a titer (aspect of antibody) blood try. some human beings by no skill seroconvert (advance finished immunity) In those cases, I really have by no skill seen more beneficial than one booster shot given, yet given the potential for your being uncovered, i'd communicate it with your wellbeing practitioner. There are 3 thoughts to advance immunity to a ailment. One is to be vaccinated. yet another is to advance antibodies of your own after being uncovered to the ailment (this does no longer preclude someone from attempting out useful for an infection to hep B, even with the undeniable fact that). yet another is in common words momentary, yet when a nursing mom has antibodies to a ailment, they're typically surpassed alongside to the baby, yet are in common words momentary. with the point to respond to the second one question, an infant won't be able to be born resistant to hep B, and the in common words thanks to grant finished secure practices is the vaccine.
